Sometimes the output is not as informative as you would like to have. If you use your format for example ls -la you can make a shortcut for that if you do use the command often. To do so edit the following file:
    nano ~/.bashrc

+you can add as many aliases as you like. After adding your alias save the file and reboot the machine.
