You might encounter that diskfilter writes are not supported on some debian distros. This can due to serveral issues. Try to turn on AHCI in your BIOS. If this dosn't work it could be that you are using LVM.

To work around this issue do the following

 nano /etc/grub.d/10_linux

and replace

 quick_boot="1" with quick_boot="0"

save the file and do a

 update-grub

That should fix this issue.
